Vincent Enyeama Wins Goal Nigeria Player Of The Year 2014

Vincent Enyeama has been named the Goal Nigeria Player of the Year 2014, winning the award courtesy of overwhelming votes from readers of the football website.

The Lille and Super Eagles goalkeeper led the field that included illustrious compatriots Ahmed Musa, Obafemi Martins, Mfon Udoh and Ikechukwu Uche. A joyful Enyeama, 32, accepted the award at his club in France on Monday morning.

"I’m really happy. I want to thank my teammates at Lille, the Nigeria national team, my coaches, my wife, my fans, everybody who voted for me, who scream for me during matches to encourage me. And the journalists, without which nothing will be possible.”

Nigerian Lil wayne is an old friend of Obafemi, they used to train and play football together in Lagos Island. Because Wasiu couldn’t reach the stardom, he became frustrated and moved into drugs. According to sources, Wasiu is now a drug addict.

Ex-Enyimba Football Star Romanus Orjinta Found Dead At His Home

Former Enyimba defender, Romanus Orjinta was found dead at his home in Enugu on New Year’s Eve, December 31st. The cause of his death is yet unknown.

Until his death, the 33yr old former central defender was a coach and had won the CAF Champions league for Enyimba football club in 2003. Details later. May his soul rest in peace. Amen.

Chelsea As Good As Real Madrid - Victorious Pochettino

 

Spurs condemned Jose Mourinho's team to just their second league defeat of the campaign, with the head coach especially pleased with striker Harry Kane.  

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino hailed his side's victory over Chelsea as he believes they are among the best teams in the world - as good as European and world champions Real Madrid.

Harry Kane and Nacer Chadli starred as the White Hart Lane outfit ran out 5-3 winners to inflict the second league defeat of the season on Jose Mourinho's side.

And though Pochettino believes the Blues are on the same level as Champions League holders Madrid - who are currently in the midst of a 22-game win streak in competitive games - he is not getting carried away with the victory.

Gerrard Quits Liverpool

 

The Reds captain has announced his decision to leave Anfield and admitted that he agonised over the move. Steven Gerrard has confirmed he will leave Liverpool when his contract expires in June. The Reds captain, who made his debut in 1998, has been heavily linked with a move to Major League Soccer in the United States, specifically LA Galaxy.

Gerrard was offered a new contract to stay at Anfield in December, with Brendan Rodgers expressing his hope that the 34-year-old would commit his future to the club, but he will instead look to finish his career away from the Premier League.

'Cristiano Ronaldo Almost Joined Birmingham'

 

The former Premier League outfit were offered the Portuguese superstar by Sporting Lisbon but the attacker ultimately ended up at Old Trafford. Former Birmingham owner David Sullivan claims the Blues could have signed Cristiano Ronaldo for £6 million (€7.6m) before he moved to Manchester United in 2003.

The Portugal international was signed by Sir Alex Ferguson as an 18-year-old and moved to Old Trafford from Sporting Lisbon in a deal worth €15.5m.

Ronaldo went on to spend six years at United, winning the Champions League and three Premier League titles before signing for Real Madrid in 2009.

AC Milan Shock Real Madrid In Dubai

 

 A Cristiano Ronaldo goal and a late Karim Benzema penalty were made irrelevant by a Jeremy Menez opener, a double from Stephan El Shaarawy and a goal from Giampaolo Pazzini

Stephan El Shaarawy scored twice as AC Milan defeated Real Madrid 4-2 in Tuesday's mid-season friendly in Dubai. The Italy international netted once in each half as the Serie A giants overcame their La Liga counterparts in an entertaining encounter.

Real Madrid Star, Cristiano Ronaldo has on Monday, December 29, 2014 been named the Best Player of the Year as he bagged the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai. The Portuguese player has enjoyed a wonderful year in his career as he has broken almost all football records in history. 

He has the highest numbers of goals in a single Champions League season as he led Real Madrid to their 10th title with 17 goals in the tournament.

Ronaldo is arguably the most deserved player of the 2014 FIFA Ballon d’Or for the second year in a row, and third time in his career. He has been listed alongside Lionel Messi and Manuel Neuer for the prize, which is schedule to be announced on Monday, January 12, 2014.

Speaking at the award in Atlantis Palm Hotel, Ronaldo said he is hoping that the success in Dubai will be replicated in Zurich.“I hope that it can be a good signal but I’m not worried about that. The people who vote know what they have to do. I just feel happy it’s one more trophy for my dedication and hard work.

“I want to say thank you to the people at Real Madrid, – the players, the coach – we had a fantastic season, we won four trophies and we are one of the best teams in the world.

Mikel Obi Reportedly Building Estate In Lagos Called Chelsea Estate

 

There are reports by people in the know that Chelsea and Super Eagles midfielder, Mikel Obi is building a mini estate in the Ajah/Badore new development area of Lagos. Mikel and his partners (including a bank) are planning to build over 100 housing units of 2/3/4bedroom service apartments, a multipurpose hall and recreational facilities. The estate will be called Chelsea Estate and construction has already begun.

Atletico Madrid Sign Torres On Loan From AC Milan

 

The striker will return to the Vicente Calderon until the end of next season, after scoring just one goal in 10 Serie A appearances. 

Atletico Madrid have announced that Fernando Torres has rejoined the club in a loan deal from AC Milan until the end of next season.

The striker made his debut for the Rojiblancos as a 17-year-old and scored 91 goals in 244 appearances before leaving the club in 2007 for Liverpool. Ill-fated spells at Chelsea and Milan followed, but upon agreeing a permanent transfer to San Siro last week, Torres has now promptly rejoined the club where he started his career.

A statement on Atleti's official website read: "Fernando Torres returns to Atletico Madrid after an agreement was reached between our club and Milan as the international striker will play on loan for the remainder of the season and one more campaign.

Champions Manchester City Let Chelsea Off The Hook

 

Goals from George Boyd and Ashley Barnes capped an excellent second-half revival as Sean Dyche's strugglers fought back from a two-goal deficit to draw at the Etihad Stadium

Manchester City will be desperately disappointed this evening after letting a two-goal lead slip to draw 2-2 at home with Burnley. It means City remain three points adrift of Premier league leaders Chelsea who also dropped points away at Southampton.

David Silva and Fernandinho gave them a commanding first-half lead, but Burnley, who were excellent throughout, left with a well-deserved point after goals from George Boyd and Ashley Barnes. The movement of Boyd and Danny Ings caused City all sorts of problems, but the home side will see this as two vital points dropped.
