Thunder strikes two students dead in Jos

Tragedy struck in Plateau State weekend as two students of a secondary school in Shendam, were struck dead by lightening while the other was seriously injured.

Mr. Raymond Gofut, the principal of the school, was quoted as saying the incident happened when the students were returning to their dormitory in the evening shortly after a downpour.
The third student was immediately rushed to an undisclosed hospital while the bodies of the deceased students were later deposited at a mortuary.
Confirming the incident, the state Commissioner for Education, Mr. Nanle Dashe, said it was not a government-owned secondary school though he was yet to receive full details about the incident.
