Odemwingie injured in Stoke win against Manchester City

The 32-year-old came on in the second half but had to be taken off moments later as he pulled what seemed to be a hamstring injury while the Potters held on to a famous victory

Peter Odemwingie was stretched off as Stoke City defeated Manchester City 1-0 on Saturday.
The Potters had taken an unlikely lead at the Etihad Stadium via Mame Diouf before Odemwingie cupped the unfortunate injury.

The Nigerian, a substitute himself, was later subbed with Charlie Adam. He had come on in the 46th minute for Jonathan Walters as Stoke defended deep. Diouf’s 58th minute goal against the run of play emboldened Stoke forwards as they began to make more foraging runs upwards. Continue.....

After teeing up a pass for Diouf to double the lead minutes later, the 32-year-old then pulled what looked like a hamstring in the 62nd minute as he attempted to stop a cross from going into touch.
He was eventually stretched off a couple of minutes later.

Compatriot Victor Moses started the game but was also substituted late on after making a very timely tackle as City pressured the Stoke defense.
It was his first game for the Potters in the Premier League since he made his loan switch from Chelsea last week.
Both players were not invited for the Super Eagles' pair of 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Congo and South Africa next weekend.
